Privacy Policy — Slam Wager

Slam Wager ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Account info: email, display name, and password (hashed). If you sign in with Google, we receive your email, name, and profile photo.
Payment info: processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We store a Stripe customer ID and subscription status.
Usage data: normalized page paths, explicitly annotated product actions, session timing, and referrer host. We do not store raw user-agent strings in product analytics, and anonymous product analytics remain disabled until a durable abuse-control boundary is available.
Advertising attribution: if you accept optional advertising technology, we may collect campaign parameters, Google, Meta, or X click identifiers, and lead or purchase events so we can measure which ads work.
Communications: if you contact support, we keep a record of the conversation.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and operate the Service (deliver picks, manage your subscription)
To process payments and prevent fraud
To send service-related emails (billing receipts, account notices, important updates)
To improve product quality and reliability using aggregate, non-identifying information
To comply with legal obligations

3. Who We Share With

We share data only with vendors who help us run the Service:

Stripe — payment processing and tax compliance
Supabase — authentication and database hosting
Google — if you choose to sign in with Google
Google Ads, Meta, and X — optional advertising measurement and campaign attribution after you accept advertising technology
Cloudflare — content delivery and DDoS protection

We do not sell your personal information. When you accept advertising technology, we share limited conversion and attribution data with Google, Meta, and X to measure and improve Slam Wager campaigns. We do not expose member-only picks through these services.

4. Cookies

We use essential storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. Optional analytics and advertising storage are denied by default. If you select Accept all, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta, and X may use cookies or similar technology for measurement, attribution, and advertising. Selecting Necessary only keeps those optional technologies disabled. You can clear the stored choice in your browser and revisit the site to choose again.

5. Data Retention

We keep account data while your account is active and for up to 24 months after closure where needed for tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, or legal obligations. Signed-in product-session analytics are retained for 90 days. Aggregate Search Console performance data, which is not joined to member profiles, is retained for up to 480 days; import receipts are retained for 180 days. You can request deletion at any time (see Your Rights below), but records such as invoices may be retained where law requires it.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Delete your account and associated data
Export your data in a portable format
Object to or restrict certain processing
Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (we don't do either)

7. Security

We use HTTPS in transit, Supabase-managed authentication, role-based database controls, and deployment secret storage for active web-push credentials. Slam Wager does not store plaintext passwords or full payment-card numbers. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.

8. Children

The Service is for adults 21+ only. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 21. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International Users

The Service is operated from the United States. By using it, you consent to your data being processed in the US, which may have different data-protection laws than your country.

10. Changes to This Policy

We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
