1. About this agreement
This Arena Creator Agreement (the “Agreement”) is between you and SlamWager (“SlamWager”, “we”, “us”). It applies when you apply to Arena, redeem an invite, connect or build an engine, or send a pick. You accept it by ticking the box when you apply or join, and each time we ask you to accept a new version.
SlamWager's Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Responsible Gaming page also apply to you as a SlamWager account holder. If they conflict with this Agreement about your engine, picks or creator payments, this Agreement wins.
Words we use
- Arena: SlamWager's marketplace of automated betting engines run by independent creators.
- Engine: your automated system that makes picks. An API engine runs on your own systems and sends picks to our Pick API (or our MCP connector). A Builder engine is a recipe you make in our no-code Builder, which we run for you on SlamWager's data.
- Pick: one recommendation your engine sends for a game and market. Open pick: a pick whose game hasn't started.
- Record: your engine's graded history as SlamWager keeps it.
- Member: a SlamWager account holder. Entitled member: a member whose plan or subscription lets them see a given pick at that moment (section 8).
2. Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 21 and allowed to take part where you live. You're responsible for following the laws that apply to you, including any rules about selling or publishing sports picks.
- One creator account per person or business. You can run up to the number of engines Creator Studio allows, all under that one account.
- The details you give us must be true and kept up to date. Before you can be paid, you verify your identity and bank details with our payment processor, Stripe (Stripe Connect). Stripe holds those details; we store only your Stripe account id and whether payouts are enabled.
- Arena is invite-only during early access. Applying doesn't guarantee an invite, and an invite code is for you alone.
- Keep your API keys secret. Picks sent with your key count as yours. Tell us right away if a key leaks; you can revoke and replace keys in Creator Studio.
- Your account is personal to you. It can't be sold, rented, shared or transferred (section 9).
3. What Arena is
Arena shows the picks of automated engines only: picks made by code, a statistical model, a machine-learning model or an AI agent. It is not a place for hand-picked or hand-typed picks, and no human may choose or edit an engine's picks before they're sent.
- A new engine starts in testing. It must send at least 5 accepted test picks before review, and SlamWager decides whether it goes live. Test picks never count toward your public record.
- Supported today: NFL, College football, NBA, WNBA, College basketball, MLB, NHL; moneyline, spread and total (and other markets as Creator Studio lists them).
- SlamWager runs its own house engine, True Strength. It isn't a creator engine and earns nothing under section 10.
- Creators are independent. You are not SlamWager's employee, agent or partner, and you can't speak or make promises for SlamWager.
4. You own your engine
You keep all ownership of your engine and everything behind it: code, models, weights, features, data you bring, methods, prompts, strategies and your Builder recipes, plus your name, brand and creator page content. Nothing in this Agreement transfers any of it to SlamWager.
- API engines: your engine runs on your systems. SlamWager never asks for, receives or stores your source code or model. We receive only what your engine sends: the pick (game, market, side, line, price) and the optional fields the Pick API accepts, such as a probability, a model version and an idempotency key.
- Builder engines: your recipe (the ingredients, weights and settings you choose) is yours. Because we run it for you, we store it and each published version, and we use it only to make your engine's picks, to show you its backtests, and to run the copy guard (section 9). Published versions are frozen so your record can always be traced to the recipe that made it.
- SlamWager's data stays SlamWager's. The games, odds, ratings and other data the Builder uses belong to SlamWager or its licensors. You may use them only inside SlamWager to build and run your engine; you may not copy, export or use them outside SlamWager. Your recipe stays yours, but the data underneath it doesn't come with it.
- If you send us ideas or feedback about SlamWager, we may use them without owing you anything. That never covers your engine, recipe or picks.
5. The licence you give SlamWager
By sending a pick (or letting our Builder make one for you), you give SlamWager a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to do the following, only on SlamWager and only to run Arena:
- receive, store and time-stamp your picks by our own clock;
- check each pick's price against our live odds board, and record our price;
- grade each pick, measure closing-line value, and compute your record, statistics, badges, leaderboards and rankings;
- deliver your picks to entitled members on SlamWager (web, app, email and alerts), and include them in member features such as consensus, comparisons and “tail into My Bets”, under the same access rules;
- show your picks, record and creator page in share images, pick receipts and links that you or a member choose to share, after the pick is released;
- use your creator name, engine name, record and the images you upload to show and promote your engine on SlamWager and SlamWager's own channels.
How long it lasts. The licence lasts while you're a creator. When you leave or your engine is retired, we stop delivering new picks and stop running your Builder recipe, but we keep (and keep showing) your graded record, its picks and pick receipts permanently. Records are append-only: a complete record is what makes every record on Arena trustworthy. We also keep the frozen recipe versions behind that record, for audit and disputes only.
6. What SlamWager promises you
- No selling your work. We will not sell, license, rent, resell, give or otherwise transfer your picks, engine, recipe or record to any third party, or let a third party use them to make their own product. The only exceptions are service providers that host or process data for us under confidentiality (for example our database host and Stripe), and disclosures the law requires.
- No training on your work. We will not use your picks, recipes or record to train, tune, test or improve True Strength or any other SlamWager engine or model. The copy guard compares your picks with True Strength's to detect copying; that comparison only flags your engine for review and never feeds back into our engines.
- No source code, ever. We will never require your code, model or training data as a condition of Arena.
- Open picks go only to entitled members. Our servers decide who sees an open pick before its game starts; nobody else gets its game, side or price until the game starts.
- Limited, logged staff access. Our admin tools hide an open pick's details until its game starts. The one admin screen that can show an open pick before the start (its pick receipt, for support and review) writes an entry to Arena's append-only audit log every time an admin opens it. A small number of engineers have database access to run and repair the service; they may use it only for that. No SlamWager employee or contractor may bet on, share or trade on a creator's pick before it's released, and breaking that rule is grounds for dismissal.
- If SlamWager is sold or merged, these promises bind whoever takes over Arena. We won't sell your picks, engine or recipe separately from the business.
- Honest numbers. Your record is computed by SlamWager from official results, never typed by anyone. Payout estimates in Creator Studio are labelled as estimates.
7. Picks, grading and records
- Picks are accepted only before the game starts and are time-stamped when they reach our servers. Late picks are refused.
- Every pick is checked against our live odds board. If we can't confirm the price, the pick is refused. Your record uses our recorded price, not the price you sent.
- One pick per engine, per game, per market (both sides would be a hedge).
- Picks can't be edited or deleted once accepted, by you or by SlamWager. Attempts are refused and logged, and the database itself refuses them.
- We grade picks automatically from official final scores, and record the closing line where we can find one. A game that isn't final within three days is voided (no win, no loss). A pick is graded once.
- If we find a grading error, we correct it in the open: the correction is logged and shown on the pick's receipt. Apart from that, our grading is final for the record. You can ask us to review a grade within 30 days of it.
- Engines that stop sending picks stay on Arena with their record; we may mark them inactive or retired.
8. Who sees your picks, and what members may do
- Arena is free to browse with any account: creators, verified records and free engines. Anyone with a free account can subscribe to a free engine for free and see its open picks.
- Paid engines and bundles (section 10) are bought one by one, with a free account. Buyers see the engine's open picks live; everyone else sees them once the game starts.
- SlamWager's member plans, Picks ($49 a month) and Picks + Arena ($99 a month), are about SlamWager's own picks and tools. Neither includes creators' paid engines.
- Until payments open, an engine's subscribers see its open picks, as Creator Studio shows.
Members agree in our Terms of Service that creator picks are the creators' content, licensed to them for personal use only. Members may not copy, resell, redistribute, republish or scrape picks, or share their account. We rate-limit Arena's pick pages against scraping and may close accounts that break these rules. We can't promise no member will ever leak a pick, but we will act on every report.
9. Creator rules
You agree not to:
- sell, rent, transfer or give away your account, an engine, an engine's record or subscribers, or let someone else run your account;
- make picks by hand, have a person choose or change picks before they're sent, or relabel someone else's picks as your engine's;
- copy another engine, including True Strength. The copy guard compares engines' picks and Builder recipes with True Strength's; an engine that mostly reproduces it can be refused or paused;
- manipulate a record: multiple accounts or engines to hide losses, timing picks around our checks, coordinating with other creators, or faking subscriptions, sales or referrals (including your own accounts; they never count toward you);
- claim guaranteed results, “locks”, “can't lose” or “sure thing” picks, or any record other than the one SlamWager shows;
- impersonate any person, creator or brand, or use a name, logo or image you don't have the right to use;
- tout: sell picks off SlamWager as Arena picks, or push members toward a sportsbook for undisclosed pay;
- abuse the API or the site: probing for weaknesses, getting around rate limits, or scraping other creators' picks;
- encourage irresponsible gambling, target anyone under 21, or suggest betting is a way to make a living or pay debts.
Your engine's picks are yours, so you may publish them elsewhere yourself. If you mention your Arena record elsewhere, link to it or use our share images; don't restate it differently.
10. How creators are paid
Payments are not open yet, and nobody is paid through Arena today. Everything in this section starts only when SlamWager opens paid plans and creator payouts, and we'll tell you before it does (section 10.8). Card processing fees come off the top of every amount before any share is worked out.
10.1 Selling your engines
- You set each engine's price, monthly, yearly or both: free ($0), or any paid price from $4.99. There is no maximum.
- An engine can charge as soon as SlamWager approves it; there is no minimum record. Wherever a paid engine is shown or sold, buyers see its real graded record next to the price (a new engine shows “New engine” and how many picks are graded so far). Neither you nor SlamWager may pad, round up or invent a record.
- You may also offer one bundle of two or more of your own engines, at any price from $4.99.
- Fans buy your paid engines or your bundle one by one, with a free SlamWager account. No SlamWager member plan includes them.
- You keep 85% of every engine and bundle sale after card fees and refunds; SlamWager keeps the rest. Founders keep 90% (section 10.2). Your share is rounded down to the cent and sent to your Stripe account as each charge settles.
- Price changes apply to new buyers at once and to existing ones at their next renewal, with notice.
10.2 Founders
Founders are the first 50 creators SlamWager approves, in the order we approve them. Founder status is set when you join and lasts for as long as you remain an active creator on SlamWager: you keep 90% of sales and earn 30% on referrals.
10.3 Bringing in members (referrals)
- When a new member you referred pays SlamWager for Picks + Arena ($99 a month, the plan that includes Arena), you earn 20% of what SlamWager collects from them for it after card fees, for their first 12 months (from their first paid charge). Founders earn 30%.
- Only Picks + Arena counts. A member who joins only Picks ($49 a month), or any other plan, earns you nothing.
- Only payments SlamWager actually collects count. Engine and bundle sales never earn a referral: your sales share already covers those.
- Who counts: only brand-new SlamWager accounts that have never paid SlamWager before.
- When it's earned: a referral payment is earned only after the member's charge clears and its 30-day refund window passes. It is then paid with the next monthly payment. Later refunds and chargebacks reverse it in the same proportion.
10.3.1 Attribution
- A touch is a visit through your referral link, or your code typed at signup or checkout.
- First touch wins. The window is 30 days from the first touch. Later clicks or codes, yours or another creator's, never override an earlier touch. If the first touch was a SlamWager campaign, no creator is attributed.
- Attribution is locked when the account is created and never changes. Accounts that already existed can't be attributed, and we don't accept retroactive claims.
- The member must start paying within 30 days of creating their account, or the attribution lapses.
- No self-referral: a member who is you, or who shares your payment method or device, doesn't count.
- SlamWager keeps referral click logs for 90 days, and its records decide any attribution dispute.
- Example: a fan clicks Mike's link on January 1, clicks Sara's link on January 10 and signs up on January 12. The fan is Mike's referral (first touch, within 30 days), as long as they start paying by February 11.
10.4 When you're paid
- Sales: your share of each charge is sent to your Stripe account as the charge settles.
- Referrals: monthly. 10% of each referral payment is held back for 60 days against refunds and chargebacks, then released with a later payment (less any reversals). Referral balances under $50 roll over to the next month.
- Unpaid balances are paid out when your account closes, after the holdback period, unless they're withheld under section 11.
- Creator Studio may show estimates. Estimates aren't promises, and we never guarantee any amount.
10.5 Refunds, chargebacks and corrections
- If a payment is refunded, your share of it is reversed in the same proportion. If a payment is disputed, the disputed amount comes back in the same proportion and the card network's dispute fee is shared in your ratio; a dispute we win is restored to you. Referral payments are reversed the same way.
- If we overpay you by mistake, or pay on activity that breaks this Agreement (for example fake subscriptions or referrals), we may take it back from future payments or the holdback.
- Tell us about a payment you think is wrong within 60 days of the statement.
10.6 Taxes
- Before any payout, you give Stripe the tax information it asks for (for US creators, a W-9 with your taxpayer identification number). No payouts are made until your tax information is complete; amounts you earn meanwhile wait in your balance.
- Stripe issues tax forms where the law requires: a 1099-NEC for referral payouts over the IRS threshold, and a 1099-K for engine and bundle sales as Stripe determines.
- You're responsible for your own taxes. We may withhold tax where the law requires it.
10.7 Reaching your subscribers (texts, emails, Discord)
- You pay for your text alerts. Texts are off until you turn them on in Creator Studio → Reach with a monthly budget. Each text is charged at the per-segment price shown there (the carrier cost plus a small margin), from your prepaid text credit first and then from your earnings (withheld from your next payout). When the budget or the money runs out, texts pause on their own and your subscribers still get push. Your subscribers never pay for texts, and SlamWager doesn't either.
- Subscriber emails, automatic emails and Discord role sync are included at no charge, within the fair-use limits shown in Reach.
- Messages go to your subscribers only. No “locks” or guarantees, no dollar amounts, and no outside payment links; subscriptions are paid on SlamWager. We may pause messages that break this Agreement.
10.8 Changes to the rates
We may change these rates, the minimum price, fees or payment timing with at least 30 days' notice by email or in Creator Studio. A change never applies to money you've already earned. We'll announce pricing at least 30 days before Arena moves from beta to paid.
See Schedule A for worked examples.
11. Suspension, termination and appeal
- You can leave any time from Creator Studio or by emailing us. Your record stays on Arena (section 5).
- We may pause or remove an engine, or suspend or close a creator account, if it breaks this Agreement, shows signs of record manipulation or fraud, puts members at risk, or if the law requires it. We may also end Arena itself with 30 days' notice.
- We'll tell you what we did and why, unless the law or an active investigation stops us.
- Appeal: you can appeal within 30 days by replying to our notice or emailing us. A person who wasn't part of the first decision reviews it and answers within 30 days.
- Money you earned fairly before termination is paid after the holdback period. Money tied to a breach (for example fake referrals or a copied engine) may be withheld.
12. Confidentiality and privacy
- We keep your non-public information confidential: unreleased picks, API keys, recipes, payout details and anything you mark confidential.
- You keep SlamWager's non-public information confidential: unreleased features, revenue figures, other creators' non-public data, and member information.
- You don't receive members' personal data. Creator Studio shows counts and aggregates only.
- Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal data.
13. Responsible gambling
Arena is for adults 21+ where legal. You agree to present your engine responsibly, never to target minors or people trying to stop gambling, and to keep SlamWager's responsible-gambling messages in place. If you or someone you know has a gambling problem, call 1-800-MY-RESET or see our Responsible Gaming page.
14. Disclaimers
SlamWager is not a sportsbook. We don't take bets or hold money for betting. Arena picks are information and entertainment, not financial or betting advice, and nobody, including SlamWager and creators, guarantees results; past results don't predict future ones. Arena is provided “as is” and “as available”: odds feeds, scores and the service itself can be late, wrong or unavailable, and we don't promise any level of subscribers, exposure or income.
15. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, neither side is liable to the other for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or lost wagers. SlamWager's total liability to you under this Agreement is limited to the greater of $100 and the amounts we paid you under it in the 12 months before the claim. These limits don't apply to amounts we owe you under section 10, to a breach of section 6 or 12, or where the law doesn't allow them. [Counsel to confirm caps and carve-outs.]
16. Indemnity
You agree to defend and compensate SlamWager against third-party claims caused by your engine's content, your breach of this Agreement or the law, or a claim that your engine, name or images infringe someone else's rights. SlamWager agrees to do the same for third-party claims caused by our breach of section 6. The side asking for protection must tell the other promptly and let it control the defence.
17. Disputes and governing law
Before any formal claim, email us and give us 30 days to try to resolve it together.
[Placeholder for counsel: governing law, venue, arbitration and class-action waiver. SlamWager's Terms of Service currently name Delaware law and arbitration in Delaware; counsel to confirm the same applies to creators.]
18. Changes to this Agreement
We may update this Agreement. For a material change we'll give at least 30 days' notice by email or in Creator Studio, and ask you to accept the new version. If you don't accept, you may leave before it takes effect and the earlier version keeps applying to money you earned under it. Changes needed for legal reasons can take effect sooner. The version and effective date are at the top of this page.
19. General
- This Agreement and the documents it mentions are the whole agreement about Arena between you and SlamWager.
- You can't assign it. We may assign it only to whoever takes over Arena, and our promises in section 6 go with it.
- If part of it can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term isn't a waiver.
- Sections 4–6, 7 (records), 10 (money owed), 12 and 14–17 survive the end of this Agreement.
- We send notices to your account email or in Creator Studio.
20. Contact
Questions, appeals, key leaks or reports: email support@slamwager.com with “Arena creator” in the subject. [Counsel: legal entity name and postal address for notices.]
Schedule A. Payment examples
Illustrative only. These are made-up numbers to show how the rules in section 10 work. They aren't a forecast or a promise of any amount. Card fees use 2.9% + 30¢ a charge. Each share is rounded down to the cent, and every total is the sum of its lines.
A. A founder with a bundle
Sells a $70 bundle to 100 fans. 30 of them also join Picks + Arena at $99.
| Line | Each a month | Total a month |
|---|---|---|
| 100 × bundle at $70 | $60.90 | $6,090 |
| 30 × members on picks + arena ($99) | $28.74 | $862.20 |
| A month, first year | $6,952.20 | |
| A month after year one | $6,090 |
B. A standard creator
Sells one engine at $29.99 to 50 fans and brings in 10 members on Picks + Arena at $99.
| Line | Each a month | Total a month |
|---|---|---|
| 50 × engine at $29.99 | $24.49 | $1,224.50 |
| 10 × members on picks + arena ($99) | $19.16 | $191.60 |
| A month, first year | $1,416.10 | |
| A month after year one | $1,224.50 |
C. A first month
15 subscribers at $19.99 and 3 members on Picks + Arena.
| Line | Each a month | Total a month |
|---|---|---|
| 15 × engine at $19.99 | $16.24 | $243.60 |
| 3 × members on picks + arena ($99) | $19.16 | $57.48 |
| A month, first year | $301.08 | |
| A month after year one | $243.60 |
D. A refund and a chargeback
Take a $40 sale. After the $1.46 card fee, a standard creator receives $32.75 (a founder $34.68).
- Half refunded ($20): the creator gives back half their share, $16.37. Stripe doesn't return the card fee, and SlamWager absorbs it.
- Fully refunded: the creator's whole $32.75 is reversed.
- Chargeback lost: the $32.75 is reversed and the creator also bears their 85% of the $15 dispute fee ($12.75), so $45.50 in total. If we win the dispute later, that money is restored.
E. The referral holdback
In example A the founder's referral pay for a month is $862.20. With the next monthly payment they receive 90%, $775.98, and 10% ($86.22) is held for 60 days. If $10 of refunds come back against it in that time, $76.22 is released after the 60 days.
F. A small referral balance rolls over
A creator's referral balance at payment time is $30.00, under the $50 minimum, so nothing is sent and it rolls over. Next month they earn $25.00 more: the balance is $55.00 and is paid (once their tax information is complete).
