Slam Wager glossary

Line movement

Line movement is an observed change in a quoted market price or line between documented timestamps and sources; by itself it does not identify who wagered or why the price changed.

Also called: market movement, price movement, steam move

How to interpret it

Prices can change because of new information, liability management, provider differences, liquidity, or other market activity. A movement label should preserve its source and observation times.

Limits and responsible use

  • Bet percentages and price changes do not establish the identity, stake size, intent, or long-term record of individual bettors.

Treat movement as context rather than a stand-alone betting signal. Verify current prices and do not increase a stake because a line moved.
