The core projection is expected goals (xG) from shot quality and location, adjusted for high-danger chances allowed and the special-teams matchup (a top-five power play against a bottom-five penalty kill is one of the most consistently mispriced edges in the sport). Pucklines and totals are graded against an empty-net-adjusted simulation because the last three minutes of one-goal games skew totals heavily and most casual lines under-account for it.
